Installation Precautions for 28V Single-Cylinder Diesel Generator
1. Foundation and Installation Location Precautions
The installation location must be away from flammable, explosive, corrosive substances and water sources, kept dry and well-ventilated. Reserve at least 1 meter of maintenance space around to avoid the impact of noise and vibration on the surrounding environment.
The foundation shall be designed according to the generator’s weight and size, with sufficient strength to bear the equipment weight and operational vibration. The levelness error shall be controlled within ±0.5° to prevent component wear due to inclination.
Do not install the generator in low-lying and water-prone areas. For outdoor installation, build a rain shelter to prevent rainwater from entering the equipment.
2. Hoisting and Fixing Precautions
Use hoisting equipment matching the generator’s weight during hoisting. Select the designated lifting points to avoid collision with the body or component damage, ensuring stable placement.
High-strength anchor bolts shall be used. Tighten them step by step in a diagonal sequence with a torque wrench according to the manufacturer’s specified torque value to prevent bolt loosening during operation.
Recheck the levelness after fixing. Adjust deviations with gaskets if necessary to ensure no abnormal vibration during generator operation.
3. System Connection Precautions
(1) Electrical System
Disconnect all power sources before wiring. Strictly connect lines according to the electrical schematic, distinguishing between positive and negative poles and control lines to avoid short circuits and component burnout due to wrong connections.
Cable specifications must match the generator’s output power. For the 28V system, each 10A current requires ≥1.5mm² copper core wire. After compressing the terminals, wrap them with insulating tape for protection.
Use dedicated yellow-green double-colored wires for grounding cables. The measured grounding resistance shall be ≤4Ω. Remove the oxide layer at the grounding point to ensure good contact and avoid electric shock risks.
Test the insulation performance with an insulation resistance tester after wiring. Only power on after confirming compliance with safety standards.
(2) Fuel System
Clean impurities at the interfaces before connecting fuel pipes. Use diesel-resistant pipes and seals, ensuring tight connections with no leakage. Conduct a pressure test after installation.
Install the fuel filter according to the manufacturer’s requirements to ensure fuel cleanliness, preventing impurities from entering the engine and causing component wear. Regularly inspect and replace the filter element.
Place the fuel tank higher than the generator’s fuel inlet to ensure smooth fuel supply and avoid insufficient fuel supply.
(3) Cooling System
For water-cooled generators, ensure tight pipe connections with no leakage. Use the coolant model recommended by the manufacturer, and control the filling amount between the upper and lower limits of the scale to avoid overheating due to insufficiency or overflow due to excess.
Avoid excessive elbows in the cooling system pipelines to ensure smooth coolant circulation. Regularly check for pipeline blockage and aging.
4. Debugging and Operation Precautions
Manually rotate the crankshaft 2-3 times before the first startup to confirm no jamming. Check the tightness of all connections and fluid levels.
After startup, run at idle speed for 5-10 minutes. Observe the speed stability and check for abnormal noise or vibration. Gradually load the generator only after the water temperature rises above 60℃.
Conduct load tests step by step to avoid sudden overload. Monitor the output voltage (stable at 26-28V), frequency, and current to ensure compliance with specified requirements.
Regularly check the equipment temperature during operation. Immediately shut down and troubleshoot if abnormal heating, noise, or leakage occurs. Operation with faults is strictly prohibited.
5. Other Operation Precautions
Installers must be familiar with the equipment manual, possess relevant professional skills, and strictly follow operating specifications to avoid irregular operations.
Do not approach rotating components when the equipment is running. Must shut down and cut off power before maintenance or inspection, and operate only after the equipment cools down.
Retain installation records and debugging data after installation to facilitate subsequent maintenance and troubleshooting.
